When most people think of sexting, they think of naked photos and dirty text messages. That’s actually NOT the definition of sexting.
The definition of Sexting is the act of sending suggestive flirtexts, that are bold, blunt and flirty, to spice up an existing, committed relationship between two mature adults (flirtexting, pg. 135).
No where in that definition does it say sexts are restricted to naked photos, nor does it even suggest it. There are so many dangers related to releasing a naked photo into the digital wild that it’s usually not worth it.
Some FUN Ways to Sext:
A sext can be as simple as writing to your partner what you want to do when you see him later, or telling him what you plan on wearing later that night. Is your beau out of town? Text that you’re all alone in your big bed and have him suggest something for you to do. Inclined to send a sexy photo? Send him a picture of the Victoria Secret bag where you just bought some lingerie from, and write, “Bought you a present. See you at 8.” Guaranteed that image alone will have him at your doorstep at 7:45 bearing gifts.
Nothing is going to happen if you refuse to take it all off for a sext, except for maybe gaining more respect from the person asking for it. We’ve asked many guys to tell us why they want naked photos from us, and most say they do it as a test to see if the girl will comply. If she does, they typically write her off as a girl not fit to take home to mom, share the pictures to their friends, and move on to the next. We suggest doing it the old fashioned way by leaving some mystery around yourself, so that your beau has to work a little bit to earn your affection and trust. Send a naked text and what does he need to butter you up for? He just got what he needed.
Please Sext Responsibly,
Flirtexting
** Assume the dangers of sexting before you partake in it and proceed with caution.
