There has been a lot of hype recently about sexting and adults. We have always said that sexting is meant for two mature adults who are in a committed relationship. This is why we are not shocked to hear that sexting and the over 50 crowd is finally catching on. In fact, we’re thrilled!
Recently AT&T found that 5 times more texts were sent in 2009 compared to 2007, making the numbers rise from 88 billion to 457 billion texts sent!! Now that’s a lot of flirtexts! With baby boomer divorce rates on the rise, there are more adults single and ready to mingle than ever before. If kids are sexting, you know adults are doing it; they’re just not as vocal about it because they’re aware this kind of communication is meant to be special and private.
For the past few years sexting and kids has been in the press mostly because sexting and kids doesn’t mix. People were talking about it because it was causing problems and humiliation among that age group. No person, adult or child, should have to handle the backlash of a naked photo getting released into the digital universe. But if you’re a teenager and sexting, more often than not, that’s exactly what will happen. That is why we stress that sexting only occur between adults, as they are better prepared to handle the consequences if a provocative photo of them gets leaked.
Nonetheless, we are glad that adults are finally speaking out about the controversial topic of sexting. We are happy they are finally acknowledging that it’s happening and hope they can act as a positive example to their kids who might not fully understand the consequences of engaging in this adult activity. Once everyone is aware of the rules and regulations pertaining to this new-age way of flirting (aka; when done correctly), the stress is OFF for the fun to be ON!
Please Flirtext Responsibly,
Xx
